Brand Design Architect (Hotel)
Having successfully secured the placements of several senior members of staff within the Design team here, Conrad Consulting are proud to be working in partnership with our industry leading client to recruit an experienced and well qualified Architect.
The vacancy we have currently is at 'Brand Design Architect' level, offering perhaps a more commercially appealing opportunity than one associated with a typical Architects role in a traditional design studio. Our client are a specialist global property developer, retailer and operator of market-leading property investment brands.
Here full control of the design process is available, this is from site acquisition through to the development and management of the building. This is the case within their flagship, luxury student accommodation designs and their private rental accommodation (PRS) developments. Due to their continued success a movement towards the Hotel & Hospitality sector is now very much a priority. In order to further and sustain this, an immediate requirement is for an Architect with significant experience within the Hotel & Hospitality sectors to join the business.
Working closely with the design director and an expert design team you will be placed at the forefront of a number of high end schemes as a leading designer. Alongside providing high quality designs, your role will entail meetings with external consultants and clients alike; allowing you to truly understand the requirements and demands of each specific task at hand. You will work alongside international development managers in order to meet strict deadlines and to get a holistic understanding of commercial constraints and viable solutions to any issues that arise. Your understanding will assist your presentations to both the COO and CEO in order to receive approval for future projects.
You will be entrusted with responsibilities regarding the development and enhancement of the business' brand standards, of which are defined and driven by the end user experience. Thus a good understanding of how the designs will be utilised is paramount to your success within the role. You will also work closely with a preferred suppliers list in order to provide excellent designs with economic constraints and to meet budgets.
Your key responsibilities will include:
" Aid in the development of the Brand Standards
" Together with the Design Director, develop project specific briefing requirements for the teams
" Review the on-going design, in relation to compliance with the brand standard
" Attend meetings with local planning authorities
" Attend regular project design team workshops and meetings
" Knowledge of appropriate suppliers, research into appropriate products and materials
" Liaise with the Ops team to ensure operational needs are considered.
" Participate in internal design sign off reviews with the senior decision makers in the company
" Ensure the commercial team are provided all the relevant data on the projects to be able to carry out financial appraisals.
" Report back to the Design Director and the Development Board on a regular basis on project progress.
" Advise on the appropriateness of new sites to be able to physically accommodate the developments
To be considered for this excellent opportunity you must:
" Be qualified with the UK Architects registration board (ARB).
" Have a minimum 6-8 years post qualification experience.
" Possess knowledge and exposure to the hospitality sector and the design of tall, new build projects.
" Be adept with current AutoCad systems, REVIT will be introduced to the studio in coming months but is not essential at this time.
" Sketchup / Indesign / Photoshop / - Preferable
" Excellent time management skills
" Ideally you will have a working knowledge of MEP systems, allowing you to review and contribute towards the work of external engineering consultants.
