This is an exciting opportunity for a Landscape Architect to work within a growing EIA team. We have been expanding our EIA team over the last 2 years to service the Environment Agency Water and Environmental Management (WEM) Framework, as well as other Infrastructure clients in the Rail, Highways and Housing sectors. We are now looking for a Senior/Principal Landscape Architect to support the delivery of a variety of projects for the Environment Agency in the Rivers and Coastal sector, as well as for private Developers, Rail and Highways schemes across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our expanding EIA team and to help maintain and grow its position as a leading supplier of environmental services.

The Role & Responsibilities

As part of your role you will provide a significant contribution to delivering projects for the Environment Agency and other clients across England and Wales. Projects will include a variety of fluvial and coastal flooding projects, as well as strategies and other infrastructure projects (water, rail, housing or commercial property). You will be working on delivering the landscape elements of those including both the technical elements of projects as well as the management ones.

You would be expected to:

  • Be comfortable working within an EIA team
  • Oversee the design of a variety of projects
  • Establish landscape requirements with the client
  • Conduct preliminary studies
  • Carry out Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments
  • Accurately prepare and present detailed plans and drawings of the scheme
  • Prepare tenders, select contractors and manage/monitor them
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Be an excellent Communicator
  • Have experience working on Infrastructure projects

In addition to the above, you would be expected to be able to demonstrate working experience in some of the following technical areas:

  • Project Management
  • Work experience in delivering EIA
  • Work experience on river/coastal projects
  • Work experience on rail projects
  • Knowledge of Ecology
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Town and Country Planning
  • Preparation of bids / business development

Location Leeds /Sheffield


  • As the successful candidate, you will hold a BSc/MSc in a related field with experience in Landscape Architecture.
  • You will be a member of a relevant institution and be chartered

You will also drive on behalf of the company to visit clients/sites etc and therefore a valid UK driving licence is essential.
