My client is an award winning house builder in Yorkshire and due to their widespread success and critical acclaim they are expanding at a rapid rate. As part of their expansion they are looking to take on a Civil Engineer, ideally an Engineer with some house building experience. They will consider Graduate Engineers right through to Senior Engineers and can offer extremely competitive salary and benefits

Job Summary for Graduate Engineer
The role of a Graduate Engineer takes their educational knowledge and transfers this in to a practical environment. Graduates would have to develop an understanding of the process of an Engineers role by shadowing their movements. The quick progression to taking on site responsibilities would follow.
- A Senior Engineer will be assigned to mentor this role initially, having a day to day input. This would reduce over time and it would then be expected that the Graduate manage their own work load and use the mentor for guidance purposes.
Key accountabilities:
- Initially working with the Engineering team to ensure development targets are met.
- Initially resolving and answering site queries from an engineering aspect, on behalf of the department.
- Initially assisting with the production of ancillary drawing information for developments.
- The appointment and management of external consultants to complete road and sewer, foundation, external works and plot drainage designs.
- Checking of the above designs to ensure they are feasible to construct, cost effective, meet regulatory approvals and where relevant, satisfy the sales department and customers in terms of aesthetic requirements.
- Securing technical approval for road and sewer designs and acquiring section 38, 104 and 278 agreements that are necessary for developments.
- Commissioning of pre-design surveys such as topographical surveys, transport assessments, utility traces and site investigation works.

Job Summary for Senior Engineer

A Senior Engineer's role would incorporate that of the Engineer, but they would also be responsible for junior members of staff and managing the development of the Engineering department.
Further key accountabilities:
- Support the Pre-Development team producing appraisals of new sites to deliver land viability in line with business plan.
- Be expected to mentor junior members of staff and assist with their development.
Key accountabilities:

- Be expected to mentor junior members of staff and assist with their development.
- Management of live developments from game plan through to the game plan live program.
