With a list of exciting projects in the pipeline, the practice is now looking for an Associate Director to lead multiple projects while reporting to the Managing Director. Excellent client facing, communication, design and management skills are essential.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating multiple projects and project teams
  • Programme generation and execution
  • Leading/overseeing project documentation delivery
  • Managing a combination of technicians and designers including time and targets
  • Consultant appointments
  • Designing and managing to a set budget
  • Designing analysis, research and preliminary design studies
  • Planning and listed building negotiations
  • Developing design ideas by way of freehand sketches, Photoshop & CAD drawings
  • Producing (or directing & overseeing) of CAD drawings, details, CGI’s, specifications and other documents to Design Intent level
  • FF&E sourcing, specification, procurement and installation (or directing & overseeing)
  • Coordinating with external specialists consultants (eg PM, QS, M&E)
  • Ensuring the design meets the client’s requirements and specifications
  • Assisting with work programming and reporting on project progress
  • Project administration
  • Reviewing shop drawings
  • Undertaking site inspections and surveys
  • Ensuring office standards and level of quality is met on each project
  • Meeting with client representatives, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and consultants of the company or our clients, etc. in our offices or abroad as necessary
  • Meeting with suppliers and manufacturers representatives

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ high-end residential experience
  • Experience managing projects from concept through to delivery
  • Proven team management and leadership experience
  • Experience producing detailed design, construction drawing packages and client design presentation packages
  • Strong background producing FF&E specifications – excellent and up to date supplier knowledge
  • Good understanding of finishes, materials and suppliers
  • Experience managing procurement and installations
  • Budgeting knowledge and experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD LT 2010/2011, MS Office, Photoshop, InDesign and Sketch Up
  • Good hand sketching ability

Salary & Package

£55,000 – £80,000 DOE
