Principal Designer/CDM Consultant
Your new company
I am working with an absolute stand out business as they look to add to their CDM Consulting team with an appointment of a dedicated, full time Principal Designer/CDM Consultant who will be a point of contact for CDM related advice. The work is throughout UK and your base will be in east Midlands working alongside dedicated, engineering & architecture teams.
Your new role
The role will involve work on a range of projects including multi-million pound industrial schemes where your design or construction knowledge will be used in the development of those schemes. You will discuss the schemes and develop information regarding the health and safety aspects of the designs with the design teams, which will require you to understand the site constraints and determine if they have been addressed by the designer. The role will include site based interaction as well as liaison with designers in order to understand the schemes.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally the candidate should have a Civil Engineering design or construction back ground and understand the design process and its relationship with site activities. This is a senior role within the organisation and so the candidate will be required to hold professional qualifications, ideally within engineering, and have between 5-10 years' experience. You should have a working knowledge of the CDM Regulations, however, the company will supplement that with additional training as required.
A working knowledge of basic computer programmes is required and the candidate must be able to use these efficiently to summarise information and to present it to others in a clear and concise manner. We also have a unique, company specific extranet system that the candidate will be required to use as a part of the role.
What you'll get in return
The CDM team is a successful department with a range of clients and we want to continue to expand our services beyond that of the initial appointment. There is significant opportunity to grow the business and significant opportunities for career progression. The package comes with a competitive salary, a car, a lap top and a phone and a range of company benefits. The office is an equal opportunities employer, supports career progression and has a Gold Standard in Investors in People.
