The role sits within the compliance and assurance team, who are responsible for a range of projects such as quality assurance, health and safety, and fire-risk. They are involved in constant improvement, and take an active role in any construction or refurbishment project taking place within the large property portfolio. The University has a world-class academic environment, which includes buildings with historical significance as well as modern new facilities. You will possess an important role with exposure to many people within the wider university staff.
As the CAD technician within the team, you will be providing the assurance and compliance team up-to-date technical information on various areas of the building, through the surveying and updating of technical drawings. You will be a competent CAD user, with a genuine interest in technical information and an understanding of how a building comes together. Effective communication will be essential as well as the ability to manage a busy and varied workload. Due to the size and variation of the University's estate you have exposure to various academic staff, as well as continuous liaison with your immediate colleagues, different departments such as the Space team, and external parties such as architects, engineers and suppliers.
