Architectural Technologist - King's Lynn
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architectural Technologist to join a multi-disciplinary contractor design company based in King's Lynn. This well renowned company provide architectural, structural and civil engineering design assistance to one of the largest privately-owned construction companies in the country. They work closely with their construction companies to provide clients with a fully integrated design and build service.
Due to growth and expansion, we are seeking Architectural Technologists with good construction knowledge and detailing skills to assist Senior Designers and produce Planning, Working Design drawings, schedules and other documents for Technical Compliance and construction.
*Production of feasibility, planning and working drawings.
·In consultation with Senior staff, decide the format and scope of design data required for project (drawings, schedules, specification, etc.).
*Interpret instructions from senior Architectural staff regarding technical content of drawings, and legal requirements of the Building Regulations and other statutory bodies.
*Translate standard/proprietary manufacturer's details onto working drawings.
*Produce and check Designers Health and Safety Risk
·Assessments as required for the project.
*Ensure the dimensional accuracy and compliance with all relative project drawings.
*When necessary, visit site and carry out level/measured survey to ensure dimensional compatibility between existing and proposed structures.
*Depending on the type, urgency and complexity of a project, undertake project co-ordination (controlling the preparation and timely issue of design data in accordance with QA procedures) and contractors programme.
*Supervision of Trainees as directed by Management.
·Minimum of five years relevant experience.
·Qualified to HNC level would be an advantage.
·A sound working knowledge of CAD and BIM software is essential (AutoCAD/Revit).
·Experience in the use of 3DS Max and Adobe software would be an advantage.
·Working knowledge of Building Regulations, Planning Legislation/Procedure and general Building Detailing.
·ACIAT preferred but not essential.
A highly competitive salary and benefits package be on offer to the successful applicant, likely to be in the range of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum dependant on experience.
