Senior Town Planner
The opportunity now exists for experienced town planner to join my London based client to help grow their planning group. They are seeking a Senior Town Planner to work collaboratively with urban designers, architects, landscape architects and other professionals on a wide variety of exciting projects. Our work is varied and includes planning applications, masterplans, environmental impact assessments and providing strategic planning advice for public and private sector clients.
Candidates should be client facing with the ability to develop new relationships and streams of work, and have an external profile as a leader or potential leader in their field. The position offers a real opportunity for career development at a senior level within the practice and will be reflected by an appropriate package of salary and conditions.
My client has an established and successful Urbanism Studio in London, comprising a multi-disciplinary team of town planners, urban designers, masterplanners and landscape architects. Their urbanism business is an integral part of their multi-disciplinary offering in the UK and internationally, with a strong external profile and reputation, working with public and private sector clients on a challenging range of projects across the UK and abroad.
We are looking for a planner with substantial experience and a strong technical background in statutory planning work, ideally with experience in consultancy roles. This is a client facing role requiring confident written and verbal communication to deliver planning advice that assists with strategy development, decision-making and problem solving. Candidates must be able to lead complex negotiations with clients, local planning authorities, stakeholders and community groups in order to gain planning permissions. As an enthusiastic team player, you will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment to tight deadlines and demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including the project teams, clients, local communities and external consultants.
