Job Details
Private equity property fund seeks country lead from a development background. Having invested in multiple funds already they are looking to grow their footprint in Africa. Whilst opportunities abound in many regions, they have firmly established themselves as market leaders in both the Sound African & Namibian residential property investment markets. Kenya is ripe for similar initiatives, being in short supply of quality low cost and middle class housing, and enjoying government support for development to address this. Having been on a fund raising drive for many months now, our client is confident of local institutional support, international investment appetite and political appetite in country. As such they are looking to meet with executive level residential development experts who have exceptional deal structuring skills. With a start date expected in July of 2019, this individual would work closely with local stakeholders, including funders, developers and professional teams to ensure that the viable deals are struck and delivered within time, cost and quality range. Being the first person hired in Kenya for an organisation which has a significant track record in South Africa, you will be set to appoint and grow your own team, whilst leveraging expert opinion from your colleagues who have 'done it all before'. As someone who has delivered housing schemes, you will be fully aware of the challenges which are faced, particularly within the pre-contract phase of development. You will have a broad contact and knowledge base in Kenya to mitigate risk and make the right decisions in terms of professional appointments and joint ventures. Integrity is of the utmost importance through all phases of projects where investment promises must be met whilst steering clear of any politics which may tarnish a global reputation. In order to be effective in this 'start up' opportunity, a construction related degree is critical, but must be coupled with extensive residential development and funding experience in Kenya. If you are fluent in Swahili, and looking to ensure your future wealth through an excellent carry scheme, lets talk about it in more detail.
