Your new company

A prestigious central government institution are looking to appoint a Business Change Manager to join their team. This team has been established to manage the refurbishment of a number of significant buildings, including Grade i, ii and iii and modern facilities. Accordingly, the programme promises to be very high profile due to the nature of the institution, staff and operations, along with being fast-moving and complex. It will also have significant complex inter-dependencies across the whole estate, and impact on the usage of space across all the existing departments. This is where this role has its influence and impact.

Your new role

The core focus of the Business Change Manager is identifying and progressing potential changes in usage of space to facilitate delivery of the estate's refurbishment programme by reducing demand for space, while finding ways to take advantage of the programme as an opportunity to enable intelligent business-driven operational changes.

Furthermore duties will include, although are not limited to: Taking management of the high-level space planning process, linking external stakeholders with the design team and space management departments. You will conduct high-level space planning as part of site master-plan and into RIBA Stage 2, refining and challenging space requirements, from a sound knowledge of commercial and public sector models; with ability to explore and articulate different uses of space. You will be in liaison with the business change teams, understanding and incorporating foreseeable modifications in working practices, that have effects on space requirements and usage. You will support changes in working practices from a space management and planning point of view, while acting as interface between internal teams and design teams. Develop plans and oversee implementation of large-scale relocations / decants to allow for building refurbishment works

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a professionally qualified individual with demonstrable knowledge and experience of Change Management theory and practice. And you will have evidence of having applied it successfully in complex programmes, covering - planning, status reporting, risk management, stakeholder management, resource planning, blueprint development and quality assurance. You will be an exemplary communicator, who is able to pro-actively liaise with and influence colleagues, experts and all stakeholders in order to understand, develop and articulate ideas and strategy. You will have a proven track record in delivering high quality outputs on extremely tight deadlines in a challenging, fast-paced and complex environment.
