Temporary Commercial Interior Designer [Maternity cover]

I am seeking an enthusiastic and capable Interior designer to cover Maternity leave from February 2018. This is a full-time temporary position [potential to become permanent]. Confident designers with experience of at least 2-years working in the industry, preferably in the commercial / Hospitality sector will be considered to join an experienced design team which specialises in hotel and hospitality design.

You will be commercially minded, professional and competent in all areas of the design process and able to work confidently on your own initiative from design development, presenting design proposals and liaising with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers to execute and manage the design process.

Responsibilities include:
- Acquire a clear brief and carry out a thorough site survey
- Interpret and define the project requirements.
- Research and assemble appropriate specifications that address the brief.
- Produce 2D plan & elevation drawing packages.
- Produce 3D visuals to support design proposals.
- Produce Design presentation boards to demonstrate ideas and liaise with clients to present.
- Assemble all associated costs in accordance with an assigned budget.
- Source, procure & co-ordinate the supply & install of all the project elements.
- Collaborate with colleagues, architects and sub-contractors providing accurate and clear instruction.
- Research and keep ahead of industry changes to promote best practice. Requirements:
- A BA Degree in Interior Design / Interior architecture is essential.
- A minimum of 2-years relative Design experience is required with experience designing for the hotel & hospitality sector in particular a strong advantage.
- Proficient use of AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Photoshop and Microsoft Office [Outlook, Word, Excel and MS Project].
- Good client facing interaction and confident presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to co-ordinate projects independently.
- A flexible approach to working hours where a project or deadline dictates.
- A portfolio of previous work that demonstrates creativity and attention to detail.
- Must hold a full clean driving licence and able to travel to meet clients and attend site.
