An opportunity for a talented strong interior designer to lead and develop our interiors team in the London office and bring enthusiasm to a growing team of architects and designers.

Leonard Design Architects are a design-led architectural practice with offices in London, Nottingham, Kuala Lumpur and a presence in Sydney. The practice’s work varies in typology and scale from the masterplanning of city centres to the design of one off boutique retail units, and strategic front-end consultancy through to on-site delivery.

We are strengthening our design team with the recruitment of a senior/ strong interior designer who can join our growing team in London. A candidate should be self-motivated and passionate about retail, leisure/ entertainment, and place-making. They will work initially on all early stages of projects for international projects with the ability to lead a small but growing group of junior interior designers. The role will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing concepts for projects (feasibilities, competitions, design reports).
  • Working as part of the interiors team across offices with Nottingham
  • Sharing specialist knowledge of interiors and design principles, practices and standards with the wider design teams.

Key Attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an Interior Designer role
  • Professional experience within the retail sector involving the development of retail strategies, branding and the creation of compelling environments. Other additional sector experience is welcomed to help contribute towards our broadening project base
  • Someone who actively enjoys passing on knowledge and facilitating the growth of junior team members
  • Someone who is looking to grow within a company and become a member of a close knit team
  • A genuine passion for design and the built environment
  • Someone who is interested in both the vision and the detail of a project
  • Strong sketching ability is always welcomed
  • An ability and willingness to work across disciplines and contribute towards the practice’s architectural work

Computer Literacy:

  • AutoCAD
  • InDesign/ Photoshop/ creative suite.
  • Windows OS

Ideal complimentary software:

  • Vray
  • Rhino
  • Sketchup

  • 3DS Max
