Im working with a client close to Leeds City Centre who is looking for a Technologist due to continued growth - they specialise in Residential and would like to a Technologist who has a broad range of experience in this sector - social housing, student accommodation, elderly housing, extra care....etc

The practice is relatively small but well established and has a laid back and friendly environment - they have a low turnover and give a great deal of responsibility to those who want to get involved in the design and work on all aspects of a project, always seeing projects through to completion from concept where possible


- Understanding and experience of technical aspects of the design project.
- Prepare and develop drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design project.
- Take responsibility for specific areas of the design and project development.
- Liaise, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies.
- Seek, and record evidence of, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and an annual Personal Development Plan (PDP,) in accordance with the requirements of the BIAT or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of and compliance with W+M's procedures and standards.
- Contribute, or otherwise assist, as required.
Qualities and skills required


- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of an effective team.
- Ability to take initiative in response to direction or instruction and work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to understand and formulate technical design decisions and present for discussion.
- A good technical knowledge of how buildings are constructed and current standards/regulations.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently.
- A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and commitment to independent lifelong learning.


- Understanding of the technologist's role in the co-ordination and integration of project information and management.
- Ability to assist with the management of assistants on the team.
- Understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget.
- Ability to use the following: PhotoShop, Publisher or Vectorworks (full training given).

Successful applicants can expect a salary of £30000-35000, free parking, 16:30 finish on a Friday, shutdown over Christmas without having to use your holidays and more.
