I am working exclusively with a key client of mine, a highly reputable international engineering firm with offices in all corners of the UK and across the world, on a very exciting opportunity.

They are looking for a Project Finance Manager to join their team in London on a full-time permanent basis. Your expertise will be vital in steering delivery and improving processes.

Your responsibilities will be varied: you will champion their project management tools, produce financial reports and resourcing analytics and support the team in planning project delivery.

You will be assisting and overseeing the financial positioning of projects in order to identify and mitigate exposure to commercial risk. Projects will be large, complex schemes based both internationally and in the UK. You will directly support the Project Leaders across the building structures and the MEP teams, acting as the go-to person for commercial and financial support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Regularly reporting to Project Leaders to ensure all activity is in line with planned resourcing and in profit
  • Maintain relationships with the engineering teams, ensuring constant communication
  • Building commercial awareness and support within discipline in order to create an increasing financially sustainable business proposition
  • Helping Discipline Leads to ensure they have appropriate teams for their workload
  • Producing project variance reports to identify the actual vs planned figures on projects
  • Monthly checking, meeting and reporting to teams
  • Monitor profitability targets
  • Building commercial awareness and support within discipline in order to create an increasing financially sustainable business proposition

As Project Finance Manager, you will need:

  • Experience in the construction/engineering/architectural sector
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build strong relationships and use persuasive language
  • Sound commercial awareness
  • An aptitude for financial management
  • The natural ability to identify problems and propose appropriate solutions
  • Full proficiency with Excel, Deltek experience desirable but not essential

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the commercial and financial success of large, complex projects, and will be given the opportunity to take on responsibility and really hone your commercial and relationship management skills.
