Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is a very attractive proposition only a 30-minute train journey from central London to newly purpose-built offices. The borough is rapidly developing with an ever-expanding planning department, the borough is currently working on several major commercial and residential redevelopments.

Your new role

The new role is working on major projects and important cooperate schemes within the borough. In addition to working on strategic major applications from beginning of pre-application to the discharge of conditions. A candidate preferably has management or supervisory experience.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed a candidate will require strong negotiation skills and the ability to lead pre-application discussions with experience of working on major projects. You will need experience of working as a town planner in London either the public or private sector with a strong knowledge of UK planning system. A strong candidate will hold the ability to prepare reports and briefings for elected members and senior managers.
