A public sector organisation based in Nottinghamshire are looking to recruit an Assistant Planning Liaison Manager. They are looking for a candidate to join their existing team who deal with planning consultants and general planning enquiries, providing pre-application planning advice.

Your new role
You will be responsible for assisting all members of the Planning and Local Authority Liaison team in responding to planning consultations, general planning enquiries and providing pre-application planning advice.

Duties will include:

• Assisting in the management of a high volume workload in response to consultations received in regards to development management and the development plan system.
• Liaising with other internal departments, and representing the authority on matters of planning and public safety with these organisations and others to resolve the matter as the Authority may require.
• Assisting with the monitoring of the effectiveness of the Authority's input into the planning system and identifying opportunities for improving departmental systems and working processes to obtain best value.
• Defending professional planning views and judgements expressed in the Authority's consultation responses to Local Planning Authorities.
  

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a masters degree or postgraduate diploma in town planning and will ideally be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

You must have a good knowledge the role and needs of relevant stake holders involved in the planning process and the range of conflicts which will be experienced as a result of engaging with the planning system.

What you'll get in return
You will be on a 3 Year fixed term contract paying a salary of up to £31,000 DOE, with the potential to become a permanent employee.You will receive 27.5 days holiday plus bank holidays with a flexible benefits package.
