BIM Manager

As one of the largest multi-disciplinary companies in the UK, my client in Birmingham is a market leader that are seeking an enthusiastic BIM Manager to join and strengthen their Architecture and Engineering business and lead on BIM at the practice.

The studio have approached me with regards to their requirement for an experienced and proactive BIM Manager to join their busy and award-winning team. The practice pride themselves in delivering client-focused architectural services across a variety of project sectors including: Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Residential, Manufacturing, Hotels & Leisure, Retail and Transport/Infrastructure - with construction values anywhere from £5M to £500M. 

With the practice involved in a large volume of diverse and exciting projects, I am looking to speak with a well-rounded individual that is adaptable with good experience and knowledge in a selection of project typologies. Previous managerial experience is essential and experience within a leading BIM role is desirable.

Core responsibilities of the BIM Manager will be to lead on BIM delivery tasks in a client facing role and advise on appropriate BIM strategies and lead teams to align with requirements.

Responsibilities will span from initial project setup, maintaining project BIM models and associated project BIM support documents, performing BIM coordination exercises and training project team members.

The successful candidate will provide coordination services to a number of project teams throughout the office as well as working closely with Senior Management and Directors on other BIM related tasks including:

• Advise on appropriate BIM strategies and lead teams to align with requirements
• Perform role of Information Manager and promote delivery of datasets such as COBie
• Conduct training and upskilling workshops for teams at both strategic and technical levels
• Assist in creating Revit content on demand
• Assist in modelling of complex interfaces and elements

Working knowledge and strong proficiency in Revit is essential, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. My client are keen users of Navisworks, so skills within this are desirable but by no means essential.
