Project Architect required to join a ground-breaking Modular Housing Developer to be based from their revolutionary manufacturing facility in East Leeds.

Our client's sole purpose is to revolutionise the House building industry by delivering a new supply solution to the problem faced in the UK in terms of a shortage of suitable affordable Housing. They design and manufacture high quality precision engineered, energy efficient, sustainable homes to rival conventional construction methods, having invested substantially in Europe's largest modular factory facility they are aiming to become a UK top 3 house builder within the next five years and produce up to 3000 homes annually once at capacity.

The business alongside its Manufacturing function have a fully functional in house Multi-disciplinary offering which consists of Architects & Technologists, MEP Engineers, Structural Engineers and Project Delivery Managers, this specific opening is to work alongside a Senior Architect and assist in bids and the front end design of planned developments.

The Project Architect will undertake a lead role within the architecture department assisting with the implementation of advanced working methods, engaging with external partners, manufacturing, construction and supply chain in a complex environment. The role will involve leading key product development workstreams as well as running projects delivering industry-leading modular buildings from inception through fabrication to completion.

Principal Accountabilities

·To lead a team within the architecture department reporting to the Head of Architecture
·Responsible for key technical workstreams as part of the wider development of the modular product portfolio.
·To take a leading role within the architecture department to ensuring all information produced is technically compliant.
·To develop, with support from the Head of Architecture, a robust process of documentation, peer review and quality assurance in relation to technical compliance.
·To train and develop the wider team in relation to Building Regulations, British and European standards, NHBC requirements, CDM regulations etc.
·To work with the early stage design team to ensure that there is no disconnect between concept development and delivery and support these activities technically.
·To assist with best practice BIM implementation including developing project specific BIM Execution Plans and understanding and operating within the companies' developing BIM strategy.
·To engage and coordinate with external consultants to deliver projects.
·To lead a team to deliver high quality design information using the modular product portfolio, ensuring compliance, appropriate accreditation and safety.
·To work with product development, structural engineering, sustainability and MEP engineering as part of a cohesive design function.
·To work with programme managers in delivering projects to our clients on time and within budget.
·To establish a close working relationship with manufacturing to provide appropriate designs, data formats and manufacturing information that maximise efficiency, safety and productivity.
·To support the Head of Architecture and Commercial team engage with clients and develop design responses.
·To support the delivery team in the correct and safe installation of modules on site and ensure architectural team presence when necessary.

Qualifications

·Fully qualified Architect, RIBA Part 3 qualification and ARB registration
·RIBA Registration preferred
·TCIAT or MCIAT qualification routes will be considered

Knowledge and experience

·Minimum 5 years post part III experience
·A proven record delivering high quality design through RIBA stages 3 - 6.
·Significant residential experience including the preparation and delivery of tender information and experience on site
·Experience working closely with structural and building services engineers and coordinating design information
·Experience leading teams from inception to completion
·Experience mentoring and developing less experienced members of staff e.g. through part 3 qualification or similar
·Understanding of BIM strategy and application
·Experience of using Revit
·Accuracy and attention to detail
·Able to agree key priorities with stakeholders, prioritise tasks and activities and communicate this to the wider team
·Able to adhere to develop a programme, manage key stakeholders and lead a team to deliver design information to agreed deadlines
Ability to work in a collaborative way

Skills

·Excellent communication skills including written and spoken English
·Strong working knowledge of technical standards and regulations including the Building Regulations, British and European standards, NHBC requirements, CDM regulations, Equality Act etc.
·Ability to sketch and communicate visually
·A strong understanding of construction technology and comfortable working to a high level of detail

Salary and package

Depending on experience salary £37,000 - £40,000
Discretionary bonus scheme
25 days holiday with option to buy 5 additional days annually.
Pension 5% as standard, if employee pays 2% company will pay 7% (9% in total)
