Senior Planning Officer - Major Applications - Largest Regeneration Project - Up to £45k - North London

Your new company
Having just moved to a new, refurbished building, you will be working with a team who are driven by the development and regeneration of the local area. This is an excellent opportunity to move into a public sector focused planning role, working with a range of stakeholders on one of the largest and most exciting regeneration developments in London! You will be joining the team who are working on one of the largest development programmes in London and will deliver a £4billion mixed-used scheme covering over 150 acres.

Your new role
You will get stuck into major applications from the start. You will work alongside Principal Planners in the team to help process a wide range of planning applications associated with the comprehensive regeneration on behalf of the Local Planning Authority. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of major planning applications, whether that is individually or shadowing. Be able to handle a case load of a range of applications, negotiate with developers and engage with a range of stakeholders. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible, forward thinking planner with practical experience of development management and/or planning consultancy.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed at this role, you will need at least 3 years planning experience and be working towards or hold the Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute status. Experience from both the private sector and public sector will be considered. You will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding and application of current and emerging planning legislation. Finally, due to the demanding nature of the role, you will need well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and experience and demonstration of investigating, analysing, recommending and presenting solutions to planning problems.

What you'll get in return
This is an exciting time in the borough's development as they build on their established position as a leading provider of statutory planning services in the UK. You will be motivated to perform at your peak, recognising your achievements and rewarding them appropriately. As well as a generous basic salary we also offer you a minimum 23-day holiday, discretionary annual bonus, company pension scheme and access to voluntary benefit options.
