Junior Technician / BIM Modeller required to join a pioneering Modular Housing Company based within their Design and Manufacturing facility in Leeds.

The BM Modeller will work within the architecture department assisting with the implementation of advanced working methods, manufacturing, construction and supply chain in a complex environment. The role will involve coordinating REVIT Models and developing a high-quality BIM Model which delivers industry-leading modular buildings from inception through fabrication to completion.

This Modular housebuilder aims to revolutionise the House building industry by delivering a new supply solution to the problem faced in the UK in terms of a shortage of suitable affordable Housing. They design and manufacture high quality precision engineered, energy efficient, sustainable homes to rival conventional construction methods, and they are aiming to become a UK top 10 house builder within the next five years and at capacity they expect to produce up to 3000 homes annually from their manufacturing facility.

The business alongside its Manufacturing function have a fully functional in house Multi-disciplinary offering which consists of Architects & Technologists, MEP Engineers, Structural Engineers and Project Delivery Managers, this specific opening is to work alongside a Senior Architect and assist in the front end design of planned developments.

Suitable for either an Architectural Designer or Architectural Technician the Principal Accountabilities are as follows -

To contribute to the day to day delivery of drawings, modelling and assist as directed in all aspects of architectural design
Modularise design/provide fabrication or shop floor drawings for inclusion in the manufacturing packs
Co-ordinate Revit model (modularise) and BTL files for production
Check the accuracy in geometry between the model received (ifc) and the modularised one (Revit) and the information sent to the CNC programmers
Check the model is suitable to be manufactured on site, review & approve shop floor documents for production
Identify areas/details that may cause production problem
Ensure all drawings and documentation is produced in a structured, version controlled manner and held on appropriate systems to enable collaborative working between the internal and external design teams
Work to project plans effectively and efficiently, raise issues and follow remedy when required maintaining project files
Allocate your time and resources effectively and fully utilise assets to produce optimal results including creating models, and research
Stay up to date with latest architecture best practices, concepts & BIM Protocols with familiarity of industry standard equipment and technical expertise

Knowledge & Experience

A portfolio of high-quality design/technical work through the construction stages of a project.
Some residential experience.
Experience working with structural and building services engineers and coordinating design information.
Understanding of BIM strategy and application (Beneficial)
Experience of using Revit (Beneficial)
Accuracy and attention to detail
Able to agree key priorities with stakeholders, prioritise tasks and activities and communicate this to the wider team
Able to adhere to programme, manage key stakeholders to deliver design information to agreed deadlines
Ability to work in a collaborative way

Qualifications

Applications are welcome from ACIAT Accredited Architectural Technicians / Technologists or degree qualified (part 1 or 2 equivalent) Architectural Designers.

Salary & Benefits

Depending on experience salary £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Discretionary bonus scheme
25 days holiday with option to buy 5 additional days annually.
Pension 5% as standard, if employee pays 2% company will pay 7% (9% in total)
