Job Details

A client-side architect vacancy that could suit a Senior Architect, Associate or Associate Director RIBA architect.

I get lots of enquiries from RIBA Part III architects who feel that they have taken their career as far as they can within practice and would now like to work in a client-side architect role. The main reasons tend to be an ability to influence design from within, exposure to the full development lifecycle, new challenges and more money. If you are reading this and thinking, that is exactly me, this opportunity will satisfy on all of those fronts.

In what continue to be uncertain times, this company is experiencing huge growth within the health and lifestyle sector. Over the past 12 months the company has delivered 30 projects. Their aspirations are to deliver 100+ sites a year over the next 3 years. They are consistently achieving double digit growth in revenue and profitability, and outperforming their peers by some distance.

This rapid growth offers a wide range of advantages including a positive, fast-paced and stimulating working environment, a big and reliable pipeline of work, plenty of opportunity for promotion and a chance to learn new skills. Refreshing isn't it!?

Each office has a regional remit. Within that office, there will be a development manager, an architect design manager, an interiors design manager and a quantity surveyor. Most if not all design will be done in-house. The London team will deal with all developments south of Milton Keynes and East of London.

The architect design manager will be involved all the way from looking at prospective sites with the acquisition teams, through feasibility, all design stages, full coordination and finally delivery on site.

The broadness of the role makes it very appealing and the fact that the company will be doing turnkey development means that things will move fast and will have a lot more certainty than they would if you were in consultancy or dependant upon too many external partners.

There are some new build projects although most will be existing buildings so there is a heavy element of fit out.

We'd like to hear from RIBA qualified architects who want to are looking for a new career where they can deploy their experience in a development setting. We of course also welcome enquiries from architects who may already be working client-side.

We are happy to consider any project experience and are particularly keen to hear from people who may have worked on fast-track fit-out, retail, hospitality or light industrial schemes.

Salary £60K to £70K plus up to 25% bonus., life assurance, health insurance, gym membership for two, 25 days holiday and one day off for your birthday.
