Policy advisor - £30/£35 per hour - Birmingham - Long term contract

Your new company

We currently have a fantastic oppertunity for a Policy adviser to join a very established organisation in Birmingham city centre on a contractual basis.

Your new role

As part of your new role as a Policy advisor you will be responsible for providing advice and insight to help shape policy documents and implementation plans and so help to ensure delivery outcomes support policy objectives. As a policy advisor you will provide planning, housing and regeneration policy advice to key decision makers throughout the organisation, you will also pay a key part in the development of the Annual business plan which focuses on housing, regeneration, economic development, investment and infrastructure. Also as a Policy advisor you will Support the Head of Land and Development in liaising with partner organisations and with other government agencies to identify, map and research surplus and underutilised public sector and other land within the targeted area.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed as a Policy advisor you will have clear experience within a similar role where you have experience and knowledge of strategic planning and housing and regeneration policy formulation, you also will demonstrate a delivery-focused approach in the creation of policy documents and strategic plans. The successful Policy advisor will have experience of managing a key planning policy document from concept through to adoption, including relevant consultation and evidence. Finally in order to be successful in this role it would be beneficial if you are MRTPI qualified.
