Technical Coordinator required to join a PLC House Builder to be based from their regional headquarters in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

You will join one of the UK's largest Residential property developers who operate from over 25 divisions across the UK and build over 15,000 uniquely designed homes annually.

If you are an experience Architectural Technologist / Technician with some previous Residential experience and fancy a move client side, this could be the role you have been waiting for!

Joining their in-house Design and Engineering division you will be involved in all aspects of housing design and innovation, the team is also responsible for researching the best materials, at the best cost.

In terms of design, there's the sheer variety of our sites, many of them using existing buildings, and all of them with unique problems to solve with each property individually designed.
Then there's the question of new materials and their drive for sustainability and value, all in the face of ever changing building and environmental legislation. Most of the people in the Design and Engineering division have an Architectural or engineering background, and for all, they offer the opportunity to gain expertise in design and project management in a thought-provoking setting.

Purpose of the post -

Reporting to the Technical Manager or the Design Manager, you will act as the go-between to co-ordinate external design consultants, obtaining building control approvals, discharging planning conditions, ensuring mains services are procured, providing Construction Issue drawings for site starts.

You will be expected to:

Obtain Technical Drawings and approvals to enable efficient site starts.
Minimise risk through provision of timely and high quality information.
Brief, manage and drive the external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information to an agreed programme, fee and scope
Prepare the Design Programme and present it at Progression Meetings.
Ensure all statutory enquiries, sewer connections and other section agreements are submitted and pursued for their timely return.
Oversee the NHBC/Building Regulations applications to approval.
Ensure that working drawings are in accordance with the approved Planning Scheme, and ensure discharge of planning conditions. To monitor and control all production information in close liaison with the Development.
Estimator to ensure tight cost controls are kept and information produced in line with budget estimates.
Monitor and control the Professional Fees budget and update fee reports on monthly basis.
Oversee preparation of Brochure Plans, Conveyance Plans and Sales Area drawings.
Attend site progress meetings and carry out site inspection.
Attend meetings at various stages of projects (Land/Technical hand-over, Project Meeting, Optimisation, Progression, Technical/Sales, Budget Meetings, etc.)
Liaise and coordinate other parties, both internal and external.
Attend Subcontractor interviews.
Respond to site queries and resolve Technical/Construction problems.
Issue drawings and information for construction purposes.

Previous experience and background suitability.

Architectural Technologist / Technician background - ideally within an Architectural Practice, consultancy or House Builder.
Degree or HNC / HND Qualified - MCIAT would be desirable but not essential.
Some previous Residential experience - ideally new build Housing.
Excellent Technical capabilities - proficient at producing drawing packages using AutoCAD.
Natural client facing ability and of general good character.
Previous job running and hands on site experience.
Proficient AutoCAD user.

Salary and benefits -

Up to £40,000 depending on experience.
