Job Details

Award-winning Architecture Studio with a strong UK and international presence seeks an industry-savvy Finance & Operations Manager. Working as part of the Senior Management team, responsibilities includes drafting contracts, client negotiations, resourcing, new business management and setting key operational objectives. This is a part-time opportunity and would be well suited to an individual who has strong negotiation skills and experience working in an international Architecture or Design company.

The Finance & Operations Manager will be at the forefront of continuing this drive to grow the business in domestic and international markets. For this reason, the ideal candidate will hold at least 5 years’ experience drafting contracts for both UK and international projects and ideally possess a strong working knowledge in APAC markets. It is crucial that candidates understand the various RIBA work stages. Reporting to the Founder and CEO and working alongside the Studio Manager, the part-time Finance & Operations Manager will provide expertise in:

  • Drafting client contracts and negotiating project fees (both from the original project and additional requests)
  • Reviewing projects, timeframes and resources
  • Preparing annual studio budgets
  • Updating monthly forecasts for revenue and profits
  • Managing invoicing, debt collection and credit control
  • Ad-hoc Finance Administration
  • Efficiently resourcing existing projects and new business opportunities (including under/overservicing of projects)
  • Setting business and financial goals
  • Recommending actions to improve performance and profitability

A fantastic opportunity to join a sociable and successful team, the Finance & Operations Manager will also be expected to travel overseas from time to time. The successful candidate will be calm, confident and strategic in their approach. It is essential that candidates can clearly communicate key objectives to all levels of the studio and experience with CMAP is advantageous, but not essential.
