A newly created role of Head of Estates is required by North Kent College

Reporting to the Deputy Principal for Finance and Resources, the newly created role of Head of Estates will be a key appointment to the senior management team and will play an integral part in providing a uniformed Estates Management services across their property portfolio.

With exciting changes happening at North Kent College following our joining with Hadlow and West Kent Colleges, we've created a brand-new role within the Estates department to steer provision, strategies and compliance across all sites.

As a key senior member of our management team, reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive you be responsible for assisting with the development of the Estates strategy to ensure an effective response to wider aims and plans. You'll be a natural communicator with excellent commercial and legislative awareness, able to motivate your team to achieve the highest quality service provision for all stakeholders.

You'll also be adept at building and maintaining positive working relationships with contractors, negotiating with skill to ensure the best possible outcomes, especially during procurement and tendering processes. Solid experience of managing an Estates team which delivers services via both directly employed and third-party contract staff is essential, and you'll also have a proven track record of successfully delivering large projects on time and within budget. The ability to drive change, bolster existing processes and manage competing priorities is a must.
