Interim role - head of housing property & assets - inside IR35 - highly competitive daily rate

On behalf of our client, a large and well-established public sector organisation in London, Hays Property & Surveying are currently seeking an experienced head of Housing Property & assets for initially 6 months on a rolling contract.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join a vibrant, innovative and diverse London Borough.

Your new role

Over the coming 6 months, we require a candidate who can:
* lead and manage the assets and property team and support the transition to the new Housing Property and Delivery service.
* strategically programme manage the delivery and implementation of a new Housing Safety Programme to deliver outcomes of residents safety in all housing.
* advise on the new building safety reforms and support the council in preparation for these changes
* Work collaboratively and in partnership both internally and externally; a corporate player, and experience & knowledge of working under COVID pandemic scenario to deliver front line housing service.

In this role you will lead, motivate and manage the following key functional areas of the business, and look for opportunities to improve services and performance through new ways of working.
* Repairs and Maintenance
* Voids
* Health and Safety Compliance
* Fire Safety
* Mechanical and Electrical Services
* The In-house Maintenance Service
* Caretaking services and Capital works.

Some of the KPIs of this role are the successful delivery of the following:
* The Asset Management Strategy
* The 30 Year Business Plan
* The Corporate Fire Safety Policy
* Repairs and Maintenance Policy
* Estate and neighbourhood policies and customer services standards
* Health and safety policies and compliance including fire safety
* Service KPI Framework

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and inspirational individual ready to hit the ground running and apply their leadership and experience to a range of front-line services and to oversee the council's Housing Property services.

The ideal candidate will have strategic experience to ensure the organisations delivers high quality, customer focus and value for money services and meets the highest standards and compliance requirements in relation to housing property.

Candidates should be experienced in the social housing safety field and hold a relevant qualification and membership with the relevant professional body.
