Strategic Space & Property Manager

£52,560 to £60,905 plus excellent benefits

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is a leading modern University and one of the UK’s largest with a student and staff community approaching 38,000.

The UCLan core campus in the University’s home city of Preston covers a significant swathe of the city (an area of approximately 15 hectares with 63 buildings) and has commenced a £200m Campus Masterplan.  UCLan has also invested significantly in recent years in its Burnley campus to serve Pennine Lancashire and its West Lakes campus to serve West Cumbria.  Collectively the campus estate creates an eclectic and highly visible built environment to support UCLan’s Mission and Strategic Aims.

UCLan is seeking to make the crucial appointment to the role of Strategic Space & Property Manager.  Reporting to the Assistant Director of Estates, the role is responsible for planning, developing and implementing strategies, procedures and systems to improve the overall effectiveness and utilisation of University space and property.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in an influential space and property management role across a large-scale, complex estate portfolio.  You will be adept at leading and implementing space management and utilisation strategies at a senior and influential level, whilst also having the experience to lead operational space planning, decant and moves project management activities.

To be a success in the role you will need to be highly motivated and results-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  The role calls for an individual who is able to gain the confidence of and successfully influence a diverse range of stakeholders.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual to play a key part in the continuing and future success of the University and its wider role in the North West region.  The Candidate Brief can be viewed at https://online.flippingbook.com/view/909549/

To arrange a confidential briefing discussion please contact our retained advisors Ben Duffill (ben.duffill@mrgpeople.co.uk / 07976 125 010) or David Craven (david.craven@mrgpeople.co.uk / 07932 717 438) at MRG.

Applications should consist of a comprehensive CV (of not more than four pages) and a covering letter (of not more than two pages). Applications should be sent to

ben.duffill@mrgpeople.co.uk and david.craven@mrgpeople.co.uk.

Closing date for applications is 21st February 2021.

UCLAN welcomes and celebrates the rich diversity of our students, staff and our community partners. We recognise that our diversity is our strength and work hard to ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion are part of everything we do. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where everyone can feel safe, valued and able to thrive.
