What does a Recruitment Consultant do?
Our Recruitment Consultants manage their desk like it's their own business. They spend most of their day on the phone, building relationships with clients and candidates, seeking out 'revenue generating' opportunities and developing themselves as an industry specialist. They source, recruit, select and place hard-to-find people with their clients and seek out new careers for the best candidates in their network. It's a pro-active, fast-paced, roller-coaster of a job...but highly rewarding when the placements start rolling in.
Who do we want?
We hire for winning attitudes and behaviours and train for skills and knowledge, so previous recruitment experience is not essential.
But you do need to be:
- Tenacious and resilient - You need to be a sniper in recruitment, with a fearless instinct to seek out opportunity, deal with the NOs, think on your feet and problem solve, make fast and effective decisions and have the resilience and confidence to keep going.
- A great communicator - Sure you need the 'gift of the gab' as in every sales job, but a professional, consultative manner with the ability to communicate at a senior business level is essential.
- A natural salesperson - Recruitment is sales and the ability to sell yourself to clients and candidates, and get them to buy into working with you is key to success. You need to be able to build rapport, network, influence decision making, and negotiate great outcomes. Good recruitment is all about great outcomes.
What do Recruitment Consultants earn?
Our base salaries are £19,000 - £24,000 (experience dependant) with realistic earnings of £28,000 - £35,000 in year one (£35,000 - £40,000 in year two and £40,000 thereafter).
