GIS Support Officer

Hays are working with a prestigious London local authority in seeking a GIS Support Officer to join their team on a contract basis. The role will be ongoing.
Working in a small but specialist team your role is essentially to encourage and enhance the use of the Corporate GIS, primarily through direct support & by assisting with spatial data capture, migration and sharing. It will be a varied role, working across various departments, all with different queries and needs, often handling multiple projects.
The main Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
Working with users across departments to assist with high accuracy spatial data capture and data migration into the corporate GIS with development and documentation of the procedures and processes involved.
Identifying opportunities to make greater use of GIS. Drafting written reports. Understanding of the operational needs and processes of departments with regard to spatial data.
Provide technical support to internal users of the Corporate GIS, including development of appropriate materials to engage in one-to-one and team training in the use of GIS.
Assist with the maintenance of the GIS Infrastructure, undertaking monitoring and fault rectification.
Assist with configuring ArcGIS Online and supporting the use of Field Maps and StoryMaps.
Develop and maintaining map templates for printing.
The role will be remote. However the organisation's offices are scheduled to open from 19th July, for occasional usage. You may need to visit the office once or twice a month for team meetings. Laptop will be provided, plus any additional equipment such as additional monitor can also be arranged.
