Civil Engineer job - highways and drainage expert. Based in Birmingham with flexibility to work from home.

A multi-national consultancy who work on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, They are proud of their 50 years of success in the UK and are continuing to build on this by growing the team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across their portfolio.They are now seeking to strengthen and grow the Engineering team in the Birmingham office, initially working as part of the Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Civil/Highways Engineer.This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Civil/Highways Engineer to further their career in a highly motivated and inspirational environment.

Your new role
Your main duties will include:

  • Management and supervision of other engineers
  • Engaging with clients and winning work
  • Production of engineering design and details in accordance with project requirements
  • Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings
  • Preparation of feasibility studies, preliminary through to detailed design for road and drainage infrastructure;
  • Maintain Designers Risk Assessments in accordance with CDM regulations
  • Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections, preparing follow up reports


What you'll need to succeed
You will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors. You will hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or other relevant subject area) and ideally you will be nearing chartered engineer status (CENG, MICE). You must have proven post graduate experience working in a design environment on a range of civil engineering infrastructure projects that could include, highways, drainage, developments, rail or civil infrastructure. You will have experience of Smart Motorway design and experience of using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
