A forward thinking company who embrace BIM and work with a variety of high-profile clients in London, the Midlands and the Home Counties. They offer their employees a career not just a job and look to continually maintain their expertise and industry knowledge.

Your new role

In doing so you must take account of relevant information (such as an existing health and safety file) that might affect design work carried out both before and after the construction phase has started. You will work with any other designers on the project to eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the work and, where that is not possible, take steps to reduce or control those risks. You must ensure that everyone involved in the pre-construction phase communicates and cooperates, coordinating their work wherever required and you will liaise with the principal contractor keeping them informed of any risks that need to be controlled during the construction phase. Your role will also include:

  • Preparing CDM documentation, writing reports, producing files/manuals, office administration etc.
  • Attending meetings, responding to technical queries, reviewing designs, risk management,

A high level of project management skills will be essential when managing your portfolio of varied projects. You will be given encouragement to offer ideas to improve the company and the opportunity to see them through.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a construction industry background and you will have or are working towards membership of the Association for Project Safety and / or IOSH. You must also have a Professional Construction and Health and Safety qualification. However, if you have design, project or site management experience and willingness to gain the knowledge and experience in an enjoyable but sometimes challenging role you will also be considered.
You will look to develop the role and have an eye on where it may go in the future, within the industry, utilising BIM. You need to embrace technology and want to progress both the business and yourself within the company.
You will have a flexible working environment where you will manage your own workload. You must be able to represent the company with confidence and show a commitment to providing the level of care and attention needed to meet the high standards required and establish and nurture relationships with clients and other members of the wider team.

What you'll get in return
This is an exciting opportunity for you if you are looking for a career as opposed to just a job, within a company who are leaders in their field. Salary and benefits are negotiable, together with opportunities for further progression within the company.
