Landscape Architect - Cardiff based or hybrid working


Hays recruitment are looking for a Landscape Architect for a multidisciplinary consultancy based in Cardiff.

The role:

They are looking for talented Landscape Architects to join their studio either based in Cardiff or remote/ hybrid working. They are interested in a range of candidates from 2 years of relevant consultancy experience to practitioners with a deep understanding of the profession honed over many years. They're flexible on location but would like the new team member to commit to the team, even if they are working remotely/semi-remotely.

They will be ideally looking for practitioners with core skills who have a desire to focus on their specific knowledge but have the adaptability and appetite to work on a very wide range of projects. Their workload is wide and varied. They do not pigeonhole the people in our business, so they are looking for competent all-rounders to join the team.

Essential Requirements:

• A person that thrives in being part of a fast-moving team and who communicates well and seeks to develop meaningful and effective working relationships with their colleagues
• Excellent working knowledge of CAD and Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent design and technical skills
• Experience in developing, drawing and communicating design ideas from early concepts through to technical stages
• Excellent communication skills. Excellent spoken and written English.
• Experience of participation in complex projects
• Ability to work under pressure and possess a problem-solving attitude
• A variety of project experience, from concept design sketches, landscape planning, technical details and built work.
• Successful candidates will have experience in preparing and submitting planning applications in the UK.

Desirable requirements:

Successful candidates will ideally be CMLI, although not essential (an equivalent overseas qualification would suffice). Working with contractors and specialist sub-contractors, and good tendering and on-site experience is desirable.‍ A valid work UK visa is desirable, although we would be open to discuss visa requirements and Sponsorship with a strong candidate with relevant experience and excellent verbal and written English.
