If working for a leading AJ100 practice is your thing then I may just have an opportunity that could take your interest. I'm currently assisting a very well-established international Architectural practice in their search for an Associate Architect to be based in the Essex office. This is a permanent position with a salary circa £50,000 depending on experience.  

This is a high level strategic hire for the company and to be considered you'll need to have at least 10 years post qualification experience with a least 3 years experience in senior management position. You'll be managing teams and a number of projects from early on and of course a high level of communication is required for such a role. Although this is predominantly a senior management level role you will still be expected to get stuck into the day to day Architectural Activities from time to time. As a result you'll need to be able to demonstrate good experience of working across all RIBA stages, as strong on technically as on the front end design side of things. Sound knowledge of UK building regulations and planning regulations is a must.

Any experience of winning work would put you ahead of the rest as strong business developments experience is a requirement for this one, bidding experience would also be beneficial. You'll need to be comfortable with taking responsibility for the financial aspect of projects and it is vital you have previous experience of managing an office. Hands on Revit experience would be a bonus or experience of managing a team using Revit could also suit.

The company in question have a number of exciting projects within the residential, education, public buildings and commercial sectors. Your previous work will need to reflect experience and interest in some of these fields. Their bread and butter is conservation and listed buildings and it's important that you have experience on previous conservation schemes across the UK.
