Permanent Senior Quantity Surveyor role - Norwich site based- Main Contractor Design and Build projects


Your new company
You will be working for a successful Nottinghamshire based main contractor that have continued to win substantial projects across multiple sectors. The organisation have secured works across the Midlands, East Anglia and South Yorkshire. The company have increased their turnover and they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis. The role will be based on site in Norwich and there will be many future projects in the area moving forward.

Your new role
The initial projects will involve being part of the team undertaking pre-construction woks and procurement for new build commercial projects. You will then see these projects through to delivery. You will be part of the commercial team working alongside the Commercial Manager and experienced Surveyors. You will also liaise with the design team in order to ensure a robust set of contractor proposals are put together. You will also have the experience of being able to cost plan and offer cost advice as the design develops, and put together a well structured, compliant and robust contract sum.

Following successful completion of this project you will have the opportunity to work on both new build, extension and refurbishment works on care home projects.

You're role will involve;
*Liaise with the site teams and take the lead with contract administration and record keeping
*Identify opportunities to maximise cost/value management
*Procurement and management of subcontract packages
*Completing the internal valuations/CVR/End Life Forecasts
*Assist with preparation of contractual claims
*Measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications
*Support the project team in all commercial matters

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working for a construction contractor delivering build projects. Ideally you will have some experience of independently running projects independently. You will have NEC + JCT contract knowledge. Due to the value of projects the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of running projects around the £5m level and above.
