Assistant Site Manager

Your new company
Our client is looking for a Freelance Assistant Site Manager to support the general street works project in Birmingham. The site is due to start towards the end of January and will involve long term work.

Your new role
The role will be in relation to managing tier 1 street works including re-surfacing and curbing (carriageway/ footways). You will be responsible for assisting with direct and subcontractor labour to complete inductions, traffic manage for closures, site diaries, surveys of existing works, overall highway maintenance / reporting to Highway England. Other duties will include: assisting in ensuring all health and safety and legislation requirements are met. You will need to be organised, and proactive to assist in resolving any issues that may arise on site. The role will predominantly working nights with some days from 7.30pm to 4.30am.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working cross similar Highways/Civil projects, demonstrating good Health and safety practice and knowledge of pedestrian / local authority. You will need to be extremely organised, have good IT skills and the drive to support your team with a "right first time attitude". An NRSWA card and experience of working on public realms is essential. You will also require a full UK drivers licence and own vehicle.. SSSTS qualification required.
