Civil CAD & GIS Technician - Permanent / Full-Time - Excellent Salary DOE - UK-Wide site visits / Birmingham

As part of the World Green Building Council's Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment, they are reducing carbon emissions to net zero in their UK buildings by 2030, and are identifying renewable solutions for our offices located in high carbon footprint utility service districts.
Some of their current clients include the NDA [Nuclear Decommission Authority], DS Smith, Clearbell and Ho seasons, to name a few.
Your new role
The role is vacant because of an expanding workload, you will be working alongside others in the team putting information into action with CAD & GIS software for the companies' varied and ever-growing list of clients.
You will be using AutoCAD Civil 2D/3D alongside ESRI ArcGIS software and QGIS. Liaising with both internal/external technicians, engineers and consultants and analysing/interpreting/presenting geo-spatial data to meet clients requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
CAD Skill Sets:
- Experienced in AutoCAD Civil 2D/3D;
- Experience in production of drainage design drawings;
- Experience in the use of Civils 3D is desirable;
- Experience in the use of PDS is desirable;
- Knowledge of digital engineering standards such as BS EN ISO 19650;
- Knowledge of Sewers for Adoption;
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards for below ground drainage;
- Sound knowledge of engineering design principles;
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as a member of a team;
- The use of the Microsoft Office Suite of software, including Excel
- Good numeracy ad communication skills;
- Good problem-solving skills;
- Experience liaising with other technicians, engineers, and consultants internal/external;
- Experience in production of site constraint plans;
- Experience or willingness to learn cut and fill calculations;
- Experience or willingness to learn producing cross sections from ground investigation data
GIS Skill Sets:
- Proven experience with ESRI ArcGIS software and QGIS;
- Proven ability to analyse, interpret and present geospatial data to meet client requirements;
- Successfully deliver routine GIS tasks independently;
- Creating shapefiles;
- Creating and managing digital libraries;
- Handling sensitive data; and
- Utilising Open Source data i.e geology and flood risk data, LiDAR.
