A leading regional and highly respected housing association is seeking an experienced Surveyor to join their rapidly expanding estates team to provide focused and specialist team management of operatives within the reactive maintenance and voids teams. Your new role
The majority of your work will be to manage a team of operatives that deliver remedial works for reactive maintenance problems and on void properties. As part of this you will be conducting pre and post works inspections on properties and also conducting building surveys as required by the department. This is an excellent role for those with surveying and people management experience and could be suited for those from a surveying or construction management background.
This role is temp to perm, meaning the client will have a period to experience working with you and visa versa. After a short period of roughly 12 weeks you will be offered permanent employment. Only candidates with long-term (permanent) intentions are encouraged to apply.
What you'll need to succeed
A positive mindset and team player mentality is essential to becoming a key member of this departments team. You will also the following key requirements:
- Experience of surveying from a Building Surveyor background OR experience of managing teams in a construction context, I.E. those from site management roles.
- Some previous experience with and a knowledge of the social housing sector.
- Experience with managing teams or people in the past.
- Ability to make decisions and not require constant micro management.
- Some form of qualification, degrees and trades qualifications equally considered.
- Good technical knowledge of building maintenance issues and relevant remedial actions!
What you'll get in return
Flexible working options available as well as competitive pay. The initial temp hourly rate is negotiable DOE but competitive, and the eventual perm salary will be £37K. You will also be issued a company van for work purposes and a fuel card for on the job.
