Architectural Director job at an AJ100 Edinburgh Practice. £60,000-£70,000 plus highly competitive benefits.

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading UK Architectural Practice to make a highly important and strategic appointment in their Edinburgh office. Our client is an AJ100 Practice who are renowned in the UK and abroad as providing an excellent standard of work to their client base and have won numerous awards across their decorated history. Your new role
The 4 key components of this role will be; Portfolio & Project Management, Client Management, People Management and Practice Management.

As part of Portfolio and Project Management, you will responsible for the implementation stages of large scale residential and mixed used projects. You will ensure consistent project outputs and delivery of the design intent. You will also be responsible for preparing fee proposals for technical design stages on all projects in the Edinburgh studio and will also forecast fees and plan resources accordingly. You will prepare realistic design programmes and monitor the commercial performance of projects.

Regarding Client Management you will be expected to represent the business at all relevant client meetings and will provide the client with project continuity and technical expertise. You will be expected to manage an extensive network of contacts and forge long term relationships.

You will be heavily involved in People Management and will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Technical Team in the Edinburgh Studio. You will be expected to manage, motivate and inspire the team to deliver projects and practice goals. You will take a leading role in appraisals and reviews of the personal performance of team members.

Regarding Practice Management you will be responsible for implementing strategic goals through highly effective operational planning, management and communication. You will be expected to contribute to the day to day management and operation of the Edinburgh studio. You will facilitate the implementation of BIM and REVIT across all projects. You will be expected submit monthly progress reports for management board meetings including financial performance summaries.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, it will be highly beneficial to have operated at Director Level where you have led a portfolio of projects at concept design stage, and from stage 3 onwards. You will need to have a track record of implementing large scale residential and mixed-use developments, preferably high rise and high-density schemes in the UK at post planning stages. An understanding of modular projects and offsite building techniques would also be beneficial for this role. You will need to demonstrate strong design and technical delivery skills and be confident in delivering conceptual designs and proposals into technical solutions. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills have a proven track record in client facing roles.

The salary on offer for this prestigious appointment is £60,000-£70,000 + Performance based bonus.
