AJ100 studio with a strong UK presence is looking for an Urban Designer with an architectural background to join their well-established team. This is an opportunity for a a skilled and enthusiastic Urban Designer with demonstrable experience as well as a background in working on large-scale developer-led housing schemes. They pride themselves on flexible working, staff retention and progression opportunities. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance on large-scale urban design and master planning projects of varying complexities. 
  • Work across all sectors including residential, mixed-use and urban regeneration projects. 
  • Contribute to design from concept through to planning. 
  • Preparing site analysis and the producing high quality planning documents such as Design and Access Statements, Design Codes and Parameter Plans.
  • Be a team player with effective communication skills.
  • Contribute to success of the team and promote collaboration across the practice.

Skills & Experience

  • A Master's in Urban Design or an architectural equivalent subject. 
  • Experience working on medium to large-scale urban or suburban housing design and master planning projects.
  • Good knowledge of urban design best practice and UK planning policy.
  • Excellent presentation and graphics skills, with the ability to create good quality illustrated, print-ready reports related to our projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative internal and external working relationships.

  • A passion for housing and creating better places.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience of using all MS Office applications and highly proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Sketchup.
