Senior Design or Technical Manager (Hybrid Working)

Due to continued growth, one of the UK's most successful construction and development companies
are seeking to hire a Senior Design Manager to join their team. Offering Hybrid/Remote working options and the opportunity to manage the design and development process on multiple projects across the UK, on schemes with values ranging from £20m - £100m.

Your new role

You will be required to develop comprehensive and quality designs whilst working within the commercial parameters of the project budget and strive to exceed the customers' expectations by offering innovative and added value ideas. Ensuring designs are energy efficient with minimal environmental impact, you will also make sure designs are developed to ensure a safe working environment complying with H&S regulations and future maintenance requirements.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you'll be providing advice and guidance on the "buildability" of the design proposals to the design and construction teams on all packages, with close liaison with the commercial teams and M&E teams too. You'll be expected to clearly communicate expectations for design deliverables with designers and the wider project team while tracking and reporting progress against the design deliverables programme/schedule.

What you'll need to succeed

You will hold a NVQ Level 4, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline or have significant relevant high-rise experience. With excellent communication, time management and persuasion skills, you will have good knowledge of planning, building, architecture, and engineering and have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat. You'll need to be able to demonstrate experience of working to tight schedules with competing priorities to deliver projects on time and in line with the design specifications / client requirements.
