The Royal Parks is the charity responsible for over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland landscapes, gardens, woodlands, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. They also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. The eight Royal Parks and other public spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.

The Greenwich Park Revealed Project is a four-year project which will celebrate and reveal the past, protect and conserve the present and provide better facilities, learning, training, volunteering and access to the park for new audiences into the future.

As part of their growing in-house Landscape Studio you will contribute to the design and management of resilient and sustainable parks for the C21st, contribute to their post - pandemic renewal and explore their unparalleled landscape history to reveal the past.

You will support the detailed design and delivery of the Greenwich Park Revealed Project, working closely with the Senior Landscape Architect/ Landscape Project Manager and the Project Landscape Architect to deliver the capital works. Provide technical support for landscape projects using AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, NBS chorus and other software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Greenwich Park Revealed Project Team to support the design of all landscape elements of the project
  • Support the development of landscape design proposals to RIBA Stage 4-6 including detailed design, schedules, specification, supplier engagement and tendering
  • Work closely with the architectural design team, specialist consultants and suppliers
  • Be responsible for CAD drawing, digital representation, visualisations etc using a range of software packages
  • Collect and prepare data, design, and survey information as directed for documentation and presentation materials
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of the project, recording and supplying information as required
  • Provide supporting information/ material necessary for progress reports and funding submissions for National Lottery
  • Represent the project at events and activities as required
  • Work closely with the Partnership and Community Engagement Officer (PACE) to ensure landscape design initiatives embed opportunities for volunteering, training and learning

Skills and Experience

  • Postgraduate/Masters qualification in Landscape Architecture
  • Demonstrable experience in practice
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institute
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in RIBA Stages 4-6 on projects of a similar nature
  • Experience working in historic landscapes would be advantageous
