Technical Coordinator - Top UK Housebuilder in Bristol

Hays Recruitment are in partnership with a top UK housebuilder in Bristol who are actively seeking a Technical Coordinator to join their team.

THE ROLE:

The role reports to the Technical Manager and actively supports the business in all technical matters arising. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, commercial awareness and the ability to work under own initiative and within tight deadlines.

The Technical Co-ordinator will actively prepare / adjust layouts, working drawings, technical drawings / details, technical specifications, and manage and co-ordinate external technical consultants through all stages of project procurement (e.g. Land, Planning, Design, Commercial, Buying, Production, Sales, Legal and Adoptions) actively supporting the project team in all technical matters arising.

The candidate will ensure that all technical disciplines are fully joined up and synchronized; checking layout drawings, working drawings, technical drawings / details, technical specifications, suppliers and manufacturers details. They will obtain necessary Building Regulation Technical Approvals and advise all internal teams of updates and progress from a technical perspective.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

Prepare Technical Drawings and collate all supporting information:

  • Prepare and co-ordinate all technical drawings and supporting information upload and circulated to relevant parties via dochosting and hard copies when necessary, in line with agreed PMIP programme, utilising external consultants where appropriate.
  • Undertake detailed assessment, co-ordination and approval of all supporting suppliers and manufacturer's information.
  • Ensure structural assessment of all technical drawings is undertaken by an approved consultant.
  • Review and comment on technical content of all sales literature and legal plans to ensure compliance with technical drawings and issue information to sales and legal teams to meet requirements of Consumer Code.
  • Accuracy of issue and working to tight deadlines and programmes is essential.

Secure Building Regulations/Statutory approvals:

  • Prepare, submit and secure Building Regulations and Statutory Approvals for developments.
  • Ensure the timely clearance of Building Regulation and Statutory Conditions to deliver CML's in line with HQI programme / Regional Budget.

General:

  • Support the Technical Manager to ensure relevant technical information is available in line with development / PMIP programmes.
  • Prepare for, attend and participate in all necessary internal and external meetings to represent the teachnical team / wider business as required taking notes where necessary and ensuring the resultant actions are completed.
  • Input into health, safety and environmental matters.
  • Produce O&M Guides and Health & Safety Files for Housing Association completions, HSE Homeowner information and customer plans for private completions.
  • Any other duties as defined and required by the Technical Director or Technical Manager.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent AutoCAD skills are essential.
  • Technical understanding and knowledge of house building and regulatory constraints.
  • Detailed experience of building regulations process.
  • Administration and document management experience.
  • Technical Project Management Skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate continuing development and understanding of emerging requirements.
