Senior Architect

JTP is an award winning, international placemaking practice of architects and masterplanners.

From our studios in London and Edinburgh we undertake placemaking projects at every scale, from cities and towns, to neighbourhoods, streets and the design of individual buildings.

Our Edinburgh studio is recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Architect to design and deliver large scale residential-led and mixed use projects from planning to technical design and completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and project management of projects across all RIBA stages; undertaking technical lead on the implementation of projects; overseeing project teams; co-ordinating and managing inputs from external consultants; preparing design programmes; monitoring the commercial performance of projects and sharing design and technical knowledge throughout the studio.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong people and project management skills as well as experience in a client facing role.

A key part of the role is client management and inputting technical expertise at design team and client meetings. Effective and confident presentation and communication skills are therefore essential.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified architect with a proven record of delivering successful projects ranging in size and complexity. Experience of delivering high rise and high-density residential schemes across all stages with a strong technical design knowledge is required. Experience of working in Revit (ideally BIM) is highly desirable.

The role, whilst Edinburgh based, will involve a significant extent of communication and co-ordination with design and technical staff based in our London studio.

JTP is passionate about placemaking and people. We place great importance on making our studios collaborative, stimulating and enjoyable places to work with amazingly talented teams who have a lot fun along the way.

Our unique approach and investment in people has received high praise, recognised with over 200 design and people-related awards including being named BD’s Best Architectural Employer of the Year 2019, AJ100 Employer of the Year 2019 and Highly Commended 2021, and a Sunday Times 100 Best Medium Company to Work for 2021.

As well as being a great place to work JTP offers fantastic employee benefits including 25 days holiday (plus 3 additional days at Christmas & 8 Bank holidays), 5% contributory pension, private medical, permanent health and death in service insurance, performance related bonus and more.
