Your new role

To manage our obligations under the Carbon reduction Commitment energy Efficiency Scheme and provide technical advice on energy efficiency.

• The primary objective is overall responsibility for the identification, and delivery of our Carbon reduction Projects with the target of becoming Net Carbon Zero by 2040

• To develop the our Carbon Management Plan and manage the establishment of Scope 3 Carbon Emissions Baseline data.

• Responsible for creation and management of our energy procurement strategy

• Develop further and deliver the Net Zero Carbon Capital programme and associated Action Plans

• Target, Identify and Lead on the applications for grant funding for energy efficiency, carbon reduction and sustainability projects

• To develop and manage the implementation of a Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) compliance strategy designed to ensure that all relevant energy and carbon management issues are carried out in a manner that satisfies Government and European legislative requirements.

• To manage our delivery of the approved programme of Scope 1 and 2 Carbon Emissions Reduction Projects 2010-2020.

What you'll need to succeed

• A broad working knowledge in the field of carbon management issues relevant us and its business operation, specifically HEFCE carbon reduction policy

• The ability to proactively contribute to developing and progressing the Carbon Strategy and identified associated initiatives across the University

• Previous experience of developing and implementing Carbon Management Plans

• A relevant qualification in an Energy, Environmental or Engineering discipline
  
• A managerial background and experience necessary to provide professional technical and strategic advice
  
• The ability to interpret legislation, guidance and BMS data so that it is relevant to our business activities
  
• Experience of Carbon Reporting in a large organisation
