Your new role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our team, contributing to a wide range of
projects across the Environment business, including in nature-based carbon removals, habitat restoration,
water management, catchment management, climate adaptation, natural flood management,
environmental planning, and designing future-ready cities. You will have the opportunity to work alongside
award-winning national experts in environmental economics, biodiversity net gain and nature-based
solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an Environmental Scientist/Biologist or Ecologist, preferably chartered (or willing to work
towards it), who has demonstrable experience developing nature-based solutions and quantification of
carbon impacts and benefits through either a combination of academic training or on-the-job experience.
Some experience of multi-disciplinary project delivery is desirable, as nature-based solutions will often be
an input into a wider project or require inputs from different experts.
You will be self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic, as well as having:
Ideally some experience in project management, winning work and technical leadership of
projects.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your presentation style to different
types of audience, including non-specialists.

Strong organisational skills, an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to
deadlines.
*
Excellent collaborative working skills to ensure we get the best from our working
relationships with internal and external client teams

* Attention to detail and desire to work to high standards consistently
Have detailed knowledge of greenhouse gas quantification methodologies, standards and
tools in the context of nature-based solutions, understand implications of soils in context of
nature based-carbon removals and land use change, and environmental impacts of
infrastructure projects.

Awareness of relevant existing and emerging policies (both in UK and internationally),
statutory procedures and regulations including environmental law, statutes, regulations and
evolving nature-based carbon standards relating to infrastructure and nature-based
projects, as well as the carbon offsetting market.

* Have a good technical understanding of GIS and Information and Data Management and
the importance of the role of data management in providing a platform to deliver and
maximise nature-based solution opportunities.
