On top of the significant Salary, what would you do with a significant Bonus? And I don’t mean £250, and a half hearted thanks scribbled on a 10p card at Christmas.
Maybe it would pay for your Holidays? A very posh, all inclusive one certainly, you’ll be able to afford that VIP lounge and fast track check in for once. Maybe it’d get you a new car, or that campervan you’ve always dreamed of. I’d pay the mortgage off quicker personally.
In a business where the MD is from a Technical background you’ll also find the next step, (Director), well in your sights. They need you to progress, because they’re growing from 7 to 15 people quickly in the Glasgow office. It’s a 2 man job, and there’s only one Director right now.
Worried about romancing clients? Don’t, you're never going to be pressured to win new business here if it’s not your thing. What they’re hoping for is someone to look after the office, the resourcing, the existing stock of projects; someone who is going to retain business from existing relationships.
There is Life Insurance to protect your family, a Health Cash back service which reimburses any prescription fees, eye tests, dental check ups or physio sessions, as well as the usual professional subscriptions, cycle to work schemes and a brilliant electric car leasing scheme which you pay before tax, saving thousands on a new top of the range vehicle.
Forget worrying about your job security ever again. With 9 out of the 10 biggest pension funds as clients, strategic public sector relationships, and a host of private developers as mates, this is the most secure business in UK Architecture. They’ve gone from the middle of the AJ top 100 to the top 20 in the past 3 years. But they’ve always grown, even in uncertain times, even when others haven’t.
Responsibilities:
- Ultimate responsibility for Technical Delivery on a range of projects locally, and occasionally throughout the UK.
- Mentorship and management of Project Leaders, Senior qualified and more junior staff. Lead contact with existing clients, sub consultants and contractors.
- Management of the internal resource.
- Recruiting and interviewing technical staff, and co-interviewing designers where necessary.
- Grow into an overall day to day management role for the practice.
- Attend national and regional events and meetings with other offices and the general Built Environment community.
Experience Required:
- Qualified Technologist / Technician, Architect or commensurate experience.
- Previously in a leading / Job Running position on Technical projects. Even if you don’t already have the Associate title.
- The ability to build relationships and the experience of dealing with end user clients.
- Knowledge on a range of sector types, though no need to specialise in anything.
- Understanding of resource management, and a basic commercial knowledge.
- The Practice uses Revit, having an understanding is required.
