Senior Civil Engineer

Your new company
You will be joining a Main contractor to support them on the design and delivery on their water frameworks across The Midlands Region based out of either their Birmingham or Derby offices.
Your new role
As a Senior Engineer you will deliver the civil design content of water industry projects as part of a multidisciplinary design team. Operating under hybrid working arrangements, much of your time will be spent working in your own space, though we do require that you are available to work in person with the other discipline team members in your assigned office as and when the situation dictates. Generally, this will be in the order of 2/3 days per week. Projects will typically include water and wastewater; infrastructure and non-infrastructure works design.
This will include design delivery at all stages, from feasibility through to detailed designs for construction, determining the best solutions and the production of detailed civil design packages for construction. Duties will typically include leading projects and packages of work, supervising less junior staff, site visits, report writing, producing drawings and design calculations and supporting health and safety
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role, it is desirable that you hold a degree or another relevant qualification with Civil Engineering, as well as a minimum 5 years experience in a similar role, due to the requirements of a senior civil engineer. In regard to personal traits, you must be an effective communicator and team player to help successfully mentor junior staff.
Other non-essential requirements such as a background in wastewater would give a candidate a strong advantage in the application process for this position.

In return for joining this leading contractor you could be re-numerated with a base salary of up to 55k, as well as benefits such as 3 days a week of hybrid working and a minimum of 32 days annual leave per year with flexibility to work out either of their Derby or Birmingham offices.
