Structural Engineer

Your new company
Your new consultancy is a SME based in the heart of Bristol. Due to an increased workload and ambitious growth plans, clearly outlined by both the Managing and Technical Directors, the consultancy is looking to add another Structural Engineer to their ranks. The consultancy is open to engaging with Structural Engineers who have between 12 months to 5 years worth of experience.
Your new consultancy has a passion for building design, and has a strong order book of exciting projects at a broad price point. Projects range between 5 million to 125 million, across a range of sectors: residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Your new role
Your role as a Structural Engineer will see you help your new consultancy, continue to make strides to create simple, elegant and high quality engineering solutions, helping to improve their customers\' lives. The consultancy prides themselves on no matter how simple or complex, large or small a project is, that their engineers will support their clients every step of the way throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Structural Engineer within a smaller business, you will be given a high level of responsibility on a day-to-day basis and will be expected to role your sleeves up, throwing yourself into projects. With the full support from senior engineers and individuals within the business.
Additionally, the role will see you undertake and deliver high quality and detailed structural engineering designs, meaning that you will be expected to carry out structural calculations, analysis, development of schematics, preparation of drawings. While also conducting written reports and documentation as required for both clients and the project team. As you develop and become more experienced, the consultancy expects these tasks to be done un-supervised, and for you to mentor junior members of the structural team.
What you\'ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will require the following:

• Dynamic, self-motivated, capable of working within a team environment as well as the ability to work autonomously.
• Working towards Chartership, professionally registered with a recognised engineering institution (ICE or IStructE).
• Proven ability in structural engineering analysis and design using the latest available software.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally both written and verbal.
