Your new company
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor who would be capable of delivering a diverse and varied portfolio of major project work and urgent works in a residential environment. You will join a prevalent not-for-profit in the Southwest who are seeking additional technical resource for their property and assets team. Your new employer, an award-winning landlord, are responsible for the provision of housing for some of the most vulnerable in society - managing, maintaining and continuously improving over 5,000 homes in the region.
Your new role
You will join a vibrant and forward-thinking property & assets team located in the Southwest - the wider team responsibile for property compliance, building safety, delivery of cyclical and planned works and day to day repair management and diagnosis. As an experienced building surveyor, you will take responsibility for providing solutions associated with major works and repair issues across the property portfolio. This will include undertaking an initial inspection and diagnosing the defect, before creating a specification or schedule of works and working in partnership with a framework contractor to ensure solutions are delivered to the required standard, and within budget. You\'ll need to evidence solutions, producing reports throughout to outline the initial issue and solution provided.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position you will need to have an excellent building surveying background, and either a HNC / HND or degree in building surveying or another relevant subject. It would be advantageous if you have experience working on the client-side or within the public sector previously as a building surveyor, particularly in a position which has involved the identification of building defects and project management of solutions.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive an initial contract carrying between 4-6 months in expected duration, across this initial contract period you will receive an hourly rate of pay (between £30 - £35 per hour), which will be paid to you on a weekly basis. Joining on an interim basis is a fantastic opportunity to get a 'foot in the door', and there is a high liklihood that you will be able to progress into a permanent and salaried position if the role works well for you after this initial time.
