Your new company
A long-term opportunity has arisen for a competent contracts manager with a building surveying or property maintenance background to join a local authority based in the wider Oxfordshire region. You will join a property team who are responsible for the management, maintenance and continuous improvement of residential properties located across the region.

Your new role
You will act as an 'intelligent client', representing a public sector organisation working in partnership with an authority-owned housing company to ensure that maintenance works are carried out to a high standard, on time, to budget, whilst ensuring that tenant satisfaction remains at high levels. You'll help to manage a contract whilst inputting technically around defect diagnosis and schedules of works where required. Representing the client-side, you will need to keep up to date with changes in legislation to ensure that works are carried out to the required standard - this could include developing and delivering on processes surrounding disrepair, damp and mould or major structural defects.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position, you will need to have experienced operating at a strategic level either as a building surveyor, contracts manager or client-side operational manager within the social housing sector.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a competitive hourly rate of pay, likely to be between £38 - £45 per hour dependent on skills and qualifications. In addition, you will receive a contract position with up to six months in duration, which is likely to extend beyond this point. Flexible working options are available, with three days per week required in the Oxfordshire region, and home working also available.
